Background: Born in Leuthilspar, Evermeet, Elu is a young moon elf that has spent years honing her skills to honor her house of Saerlor and continue the tradition of becoming one of the defenders of the people. However, a few years prior to her naming ceremony, an odd wood elf named Veldriesse came to Evermeet and warned of a great curse in the lands beyond that plagues Tel'quessir, killing her people mercilessly. With time, she got to know Veldriesse and learn of more before she departed. While Eliyen yearned to help, with little practical experience and having not yet come of age, Elu was hesitant to venture outwards to lands completely unknown and without the blessing of her house.
When the Longest Year hit the Tel'quessir in full force, Elu got to witness her people crumple under pressure and see her own people retreat when so many beyond Evermeet still need help. Having had her naming ceremony in the midst of The Longest Year, it was hardly as momentous an occasion when her heart weighed heavy, knowing that the world suffered in the shores beyond. Thus, she has picked Eliyen (roughly translated: star-year) as her name; a quiet expression of mourning for her desire to follow the stars and travel beyond the tumultuous and grim atmosphere that now plagues her home as Evermeet suffers without magic.
Once the Longest Year ended, despite her House's disapproval of her desire to venture out, Eliyen sought the first boat out with the blessings of her father and ventured with several others--including Veldriesse and Cyronir--to try and bring some help to the people of Y'tellarien, and to fulfill her true house duty of safeguarding her people and follow her heart for doing good. She will aid Y'tellarien as Eliyen rather than a Saerlor.
