The Dragon's Neck Dev Update


Hey TDN!

It's been a while. Are you curious as to what we've been up to? Yes? No? Maybe? Let's kick things off with some news:


That's right. Q3 of 2022 we will be launching TDN. We have a specific date in mind, however likely won't reveal that specific date until approx 1 month out from launch.

We're Looking for Prospective DMs & Interested Developers!


As we look ahead to our launch in the coming months, we are beginning to look at candidates for DM/QM roles along with developers that are interested in contributing to TDN. Our process includes an application and interview over voice, and if a DM applicant, a DM Trial quest.

Roles we're looking to fill:
Note: If you have previously applied for a QM/DM position, you should have received a response one way or another on whether we will move forward (as of the time of this posting). If the answer was not in your favor, you are welcome to reapply if you are still interested 3 months after launch. We try to be diligent around candidate selection and our choices are based on a variety factors, so please do not take a 'no' as a passing of judgement on you as a person and we will gladly reconsider an app later on.

April Fools-ception


Remember April? Hypothetically, what if our "April Fools" joke, was, itself, an "April Fools"? Maybe it was all planned. Maybe it was inspired by MarkTheRed's curiosity and consistent questions and interest in the Warden class, the world may never know... Either way. It's true... all of it, it's all true.

Class Wiki Pages:
Whilst we will continue to make balance changes to classes over time, we are pleased to report that each of these classes are implemented and have seen a good deal of testing. There are a few finishing touches to add, however the team is pleased with the performance and class fantasy of each of the new classes.

Character Setup Windows


Lastly.. Character Setup! We've adjusted some elements of character generation along with setup a number of windows that will allow players to properly setup their PC without the need to interact with a series of dialog windows to finalize some settings.

Chargen Changes:
  • Alignment selection is modified/defaulted. (This will be selected shortly after entering TDN).
  • We've removed the 'Recommended' button in a few cases due to the nature of the button not following 2da settings, therefore players will need to specifically select their skill/feat choices rather than relying on a default choice.

Intro-to-TDN Windows:
When first entering the server with a NEW PC, players will see a few windows providing some contextual information about the server. We expect all new players to read these to ensure they are familiar with TDN, expectations and the modified setting before playing on the server. Although 2nd, 3rd, 4th PCs will still launch these windows, it will take maybe 5 seconds to click through, however all players are expected to be familiar with what is communicated in the opening windows.

Monk Order Selection:
Monk Orders will influence Alignment/Deity options.

Alignment & Deity Selection:
Alignment & Deity selections are setup based on how worship has been set for TDN: Link -- players should not need to validate anything and choose what is shown on the window for their race/class combo.

Example shown (specific to this window): Barbarian (non-Divine-Spellcaster) -

Cleric Domain Selection:
Available Cleric Domains are influenced by your selected Deity.
