- Permadeath rolls every time conditions for an opt-in "death" are met.
- Permadeath roll odds scaling should be 0% -> 20% -> 40% -> 60% ->80%
- First "death" comes with a mercy. Terrible things happen to good adventurers but there should be some wiggle room for unfortunate circumstances (bugs).
- Not a freebie as the first "death" now puts the character forever at risk of the next time being the final time.
- Cap at 80% to avoid the system being thoroughly gamed by bad-willed people.
- Permadeath roll in PvP enforced through Unsilken's Coup de Grace widget suggestion.
- Same tool, as described in the suggestion, can be utilized by DMs to enforce a permadeath roll during events with such risks announced.
- Opted-in characters do not roll for permadeath when receiving a Grim Wound in normal PvE scenarios.
- Grim Wounds remain unchanged.
- For clarity: Fourth Grim Wound still results in permanent loss of character.
- Character can no longer be opted in by the player post character creation process.
- Automatically opted in when playing opt-in mandatory class, such as Warlock.
- All other characters can be manually opted-in by the player if they so desire.
- They forfeit their chance to manually opt-in upon leaving the OOC room for the first time.
- DMs can still opt characters in when appropriate.
- Example: Character becomes a prominent enough figure on the server, like a faction leader.
- No more mechanical incentives to be opted-in.
- Opt-in should reinforce roleplay, not reward the player with mechanical incentives.
- This also means loss of bonuses for the next character if old character was opted-in.
