# 🔧 May 14, 2024 Patch Notes 🔧

## General
- Patched a series of item dupe exploits.
- If you experience any situations where items duplicate, please report this immediately so we can address it.
- I've added a number of safeguards against this, however will continue to keep close eye on this.
- Bugs like this can be troublesome to root-cause, and we expect folks to act with integrity in the event something like this happens. Thank you to those who have reported duplication issues as it has helped us develop solutions to combat it.
- Patched an issue that was causing some armors to make heads/beards/etc invisible to other players but not themselves.
- It is recommended that all players open the armor editor before May 18 to ensure that the system auto-adjusts your armor to fix the problem.
- This was also added to client-enter as a safeguard.
- If you notice a player missing a head/beard/etc, kindly encourage them to just open the armor editor and it should be auto-corrected for the equipped armor. (This should no longer occur on new characters or new armors purchased from OOC vendor).
- Patched an experimental fix for NUI that would result in `!tailor` windows occasionally showing up for the wrong player.
- Please report this if it continues to happen.

## Backgrounds
- Martial ability VFX adjusted to be a more minor indicator. (Goal here is to show a heal, but nothing that is overtly magical).
- Martial ability should now have a single-use before cooldown kicks in.
- Artist Feat will no longer be granted to those who selected the Artist Background. (The Background feat will be added, just not the typical NWN Artist feat).
- The Background Artist feat is still not available to use, this will be addressed Thursday.
- Earthen fixed to only be functional in natural outdoor environments. Also fixed the cooldown.

## Bonus Skills
- **NOTE:** Bonus Skills have been in rapid iteration, so apologies for any back/forth communication thats gone on with this. We've settled on design here that shouldn't require any immediate player action:
- Social Skills will cap at 21.
- Due to how NWN Level-up works, you may be able to exceeds 21 ranks during level up. If this happens, the skill will be returned to 21 and the points spent will be *refunded* as Bonus Skill points. These are accessible via `!bskill` command to reallocate.
- Points of Interest (PoI), which make use of Bonus Skills, will utilize a modified DC Check that encompasses both Skill Ranks and Player Hit Dice. (Skill Ranks representing research into a particular area/PoI/subject, and Hit Dice representing lived experience in the region).

## Feats
- Power Attack adjusted to -1/+1 for one-handed weapons and -1/+2 for two-handed weapons.
- Imp Power Attack adjusted to -2/+2 for one-handed weapons and -2/+4 for two-handed weapons.

# Classes

## Bard
- "The First Spell" has been added to Bard spell-lists.

## Civilian
- Fixed :: Knowledge: Arcane should now be a class skill.

## Monk
- Fixed an issue where Monk Damage Values were incorrect and not scaling properly.

## Ranger
- Turned on an experimental fix for Dual Wield to no longer be auto-applied to Rangers.

## Scout
- Fixed an issue that resulted in the Martial Weapon proficiency not being available during level-up.
- Fixed an issue where Scout's Guile would not go on Cooldown properly.

## Warden
- Exotic Weapon Proficiency is now selectable during chargen and levelup.

## Warlock
- Fixed an issue where Warlock Creeds were not displaying for Fraz'Urb-luu.



# Known Issues
- We're aware of a number of model/texture issues, so I won't be listing them here. We are anticipating another upload of assets on May 17th before launch on the 18th.
- Artist Background Feat is not currently useable.
- `.tlk` Is still pending, chipping away at a number of things and am expecting this to go live on Thursday. (Meaning descriptions will continue to be incorrect for time being, reference Wiki for accurate info).
- Some race model head selections are inaccurate, these will be addressed in the near future.

# Hair Removal on Helmet Equip
- This is a known issue and I'll be spending some time before Thursdays patch working out the logic to allow some sets of hair to be visible when a helmet is equipped.
 
# 🔧 May 19, 2024 Patch Notes 🔧

## Note on Server Performance
- Aschent_ has a lead on the cause of the crashes and will be looking for any signs of that starting up again as the server remains online. We apologize for any rollbacks experienced, and will reiterate that if you're finding yourself extremely frustrated by that happening to give TDN some time to clean things up. We're still in our first couple days so these issues are bound to happen given the amount of activity we've seen.
- One of the larger contributors to script lag at the moment is the detection & stealth customization that currently exists. In a future patch, that will be disabled so we can evaluate performance.
- At this time, we will not be issuing wide-scale recovery efforts (to XP/SP/etc) as we're evaluating our time is better spent addressing higher priority issues. In the future that approach might change, but that is the current expectation.

## Balancing
- Bounty rewards have been slightly improved.
- We'll continue to evaluate the economy and adjust as needed. Respectful feedback and dialog on this is appreciated.
- Dungeons respawn time bumped back to ensure dungeons can be completed entirely before they respawn.

## General
- Most Creature Factions (excluding Hostile) are no longer global and as such should not result in horses randomly targeting players (or similar actions). Please report if this continues.
- The front gate of Murann should no longer auto-lock.
- Fixed debug messaging from guards when casting.
- We've added a process that will export/save characters occasionally as they play, this is intended to diminish the impact of a rollback caused by a server crash.
- XP Awarded from Dungeons should never be less than `0` to prevent receiving a reduction to XP.
- Added some improved logic for evaluating players in a dungeon at XP distribution time.
- Improved some logic around personas to remove bad vanilla nwn models that were showing up.
- Added a **TEMPORARY** fix which will allow resting in any part of an inn.
- The Swinging Berth in Murann should now allow resting.

## Area Fixes & Updates
- The following areas should no longer trap players:
- The Wealdath: Serpent Pond - Forgotten Ruins
- Tethir Road: The Oathlands, Empty Walls - Abandoned Tunnels
- The Wealdath: Sangrue Forest, Verdant Cave
- Goatherds Paths: Talonwood
- Rain will no longer happen in the Swinging Berth.
- The Elf Wayfarer (allowing passage to Murann and its outskirts) has been added back in the Circle of the Elements.
- The Circle of the Elements area now has an elven bounty NPC (Y'Tellarien Warmaster).
- The Extracts & Vitals Humors shop in Arbas Square is now open and offers medical supplies.
- Alchemist Guild should now sell mage wares.
- All cleric temples should now correctly require a clerical license for purchasing their wares.
- Strings & Things in Cobblestone Way should now sell basic healing kits for 5sp.
- Indoor Bazaar shops should now be functional, and Mirtos the Bald will purchase items marked as Stolen. He also sells light healing potions without requiring a clerical license.
- Maps from Gwardle & Snagswyck should now be a lot cheaper.
- Merchants in Whaler's Wharf should now be functional.

## Notes
- If you find the quill not going away, there's a good chance it is related to your version of the game. Please open a #player-support thread if that is not the case.
