Hope for a dry season spreads as the relentless downpour comes to an end. Over the past year, summer, autumn, and winter seemed to merge into one as unceasing storms swept through the region. Citizens both rich and poor have endured months of hardship—patching leaking roofs, steering clear of flooded streets, and contending with vast mud-seas that turned the key trade routes to the east and south into treacherous paths. Now, with the dawn of the year 1370, clear skies once again grace Amn.

The tremors that shook the land have subsided, lying dormant through the winter season. Some called them an ill portent and blamed the silent gods. For the elves of the Wealdath, their elders have counseled that the tumult has passed, and that the new year shall bring their people the resilience of stone.

As the rains subside and travel routes begin to dry, caravans of refugees press on toward Murann, seeking refuge from the Sythilian occupation of Athkatla and the surrounding territories. Scouts near the Teeth report that the first of these caravans will soon arrive at the city.

While city officials and nobles discuss how Murann will handle the imminent influx, growing pressure mounts on Harbor King Degos to declare his plan for managing the chaos before it arrives at his gates. An errant few from various political parties speak of sealing the northern pass through the Small Teeth in order to protect the Swordbelt and Murann, but none are sure how this impending arrival will be handled.

The long deluge has impacted both locals and adventurers in Murann and the Wealdath. Now, with the storms abating, many see hope and opportunity on the horizon. City authorities have renewed adventuring licenses to foster this progress, encouraging adventurers to head back into the wilds and aid in the protection of Murann.
