The spell steals 5 hit points per caster level (maximum 80 hit points). At the same time, you gain temporary hit points equal to the damage dealt, up to a maximum equal to the current hit points of the target. These temporary hit points last for 1 minute / caster level. A successful Fortitude save halves the damage dealt and the hit points gained. Temporary hit points are capped at 80 hit points for the caster. This spell will ignore saves and spell resistance if cast on undead currently commanded by the caster. |
