Resting System

Resting

Indoor Resting
  • When in a tavern room or player-owned housing, resting takes 1 minute to complete.
  • There are no food or drink requirements when resting indoors.
  • Your hit points and spells are fully restored with no caveats.
  • When you rest, an attempt is made to cleanse disease and poison.
  • The DC for any saves related to poison or disease are lowered during an indoor rest.
  • The cooldown from an indoor rest is 45 minutes.
Outdoor Resting
  • In order to rest outdoors, a campfire (purchasable, 3 charges) is required which can be used anywhere. The campfire persists for 10 minutes, and resting takes 5 minutes to complete.
  • While in the radius of the campfire, you can initiate a rest. You must remain within the radius of the campfire while the rest counts down. If you leave the radius of the campfire, you will be warned and must return within 20 seconds or you will need to restart the rest.
  • While in the radius of the campfire, you can talk, move and even engage in combat if necessary. None of these actions will interrupt your rest.
  • You will only restore 80% of your hit points after a rest and you must make a Concentration saving throw (DC 20 + ½ your character's total level) to restore spell slots higher than 6th.
  • To restore 100% of your hit points and reliably restore all of your spell slots without a Concentration save, you must consume one item of food and drink one item of liquid.
  • When you rest, an attempt is made to cleanse disease and poison and an additional Fortitude saving throw to overcome the effects of ability drain. The DC for these Fortitude saves is 14 + ½ your total character level.
  • The cooldown from an outdoor rest is 1 hour 15 minutes. This can be reduced to 1 hour by setting down a tent (purchasable, infinite use, weighs 20 lbs) during your rest.
